Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30 acre garden and woodland located in Midtown. Plant collections are developed and maintained for display, conservation, education, and research. Contains the Dorothy Chapman Fuqua Conservatory and two libraries. Sheffield Botanical Library contains information on botany and horticulture. Orchid Research Library contains information on orchids and global plant conservation.
Events at Atlanta Botanical Garden include the concert series, Concerts in the Garden. These outdoor concerts are held on the Great Lawn, and feature shows by well known entertainrs. More info...

Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world. Eight million gallons of fresh and marine water provide a home for 120,000 animals from 500 different species. The Wren's Nest, Atlanta's oldest house museum, is the home of Joel Chandler Harris, author and publisher of the Uncle Remus tales. The museum offers guided tours of the home that include portions reflecting life there in 1908. Brer Rabbit stories originated in Africa and were told by Slaves on Southern plantations in the United States.
Harris published the stories in the dialect of the Slaves who told the stores. Each Saturday, a Nest Rambler recants these stories to The Wren's Nest visitors. More info...

Zoo Atlanta is one of the 10 oldest zoos in the United States and one of four feature giant pandas. Other animals featured include giraffes, rhinos, lions, tigers, gorillas, orangutans, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Activities include interactive shows, zoo keeper talks and special events.
